Thanks John for the group photo. As always the photographer is unfortunately not in the shot, but at least your magnificent 1/3 scale K7 is. I have updated our website banner with the group photo and added a few pics from today’s impromptu aerotow.
From John: Recently a small group of pilots from our club travelled down to Cornwall on a visit to Truro and District Model Flying Club’s site near Indian Queens. The visit, organised by Felix Marten, was designed to demonstrate to TDMFC members the SW Thermal Competition and Aerotow. A goodly crowd turned up from Dartmoor and… Read More »
From John, Five pilots arrived at Nattadon carpark circa 10:30. Conditions were dry, sunny and a tad chilly. The wind was brisk but NW and bang on the slope. Lift was plentiful as were the buzzards who curiously followed the models around the sky. Landing was exciting on the top of the hill but no… Read More »
I have posted a couple of pictures onto our home page from Chris who reported a quite pleasant day with gentle winds & a blue sky. BTW, this Saturday is looking like another potential day.
A flying report from John> Hi Chaps, Chris and I had a great session at BH today. The last mile to Black Hill on the back road was a little icy in parts but plenty of dry road to slow down on. However it was cold, something like -2 out of the wind, but this… Read More »
Another fine aircraft built by Joe waiting fine weather for a maiden. This Sunderland is from a Tony Nijhuis plan / kit. I would have thought the current weather would be ideal for a float plane.
A package arrived from Sarik yesterday. 3.2 m ASK 11 motor glider. Two sheets of plans and a magazine (qefi?) build article. Chris has also given me a link to download additional photos and build notes. It looks big! So I have measured my build board and phew, it is 3 inches longer than a… Read More »
Joe sent me some photos of his winter build projects. Blerijoe has flown and Joe says it flies on rails. Doodeljoe is about 3 weeks away from its maiden. They are looking good Joe.
The car park opened at 09:30 with a few spots of rain and the horizon around the moors looked a little threatening. However the forecast proved pretty accurate and the conditions quickly improved and the initial westerly drifted N.Westerly allowing the long North South strip to be used for take off and landing. Martin briefed… Read More »
Morning everyone, DGD went ahead yesterday in warm sunny conditions but flying was not brilliant. The clear blue sky made seeing models at height difficult, added to that the easterly breeze produced very little lift. Having said that, the small gathering enjoyed plenty of chat and of course the views were stunning. Check out our… Read More »
